Life Skills For Fearful And Reactive Dogs
Working with Fearful or Reactive dog in a controlled environment sets them up for successful learning! Even our F&R Dogs can benefit from working with their triggers if done right.
F&R Program consists of - Initial Consultation, 4 Private Coaching Sessions and 6 Group Sessions, Support along the way, plus 1 Private Follow Up Session.
All dogs are required to go through an Initial Consultation. We want to make sure that we are setting your dog up for the best possible success.
Private Coaching Sessions - We will go over the mechanics on human end of the leash, and cover the basics and set your dog up with a good foundation to do work around triggers. Then we start the work at your dogs pace, and when they are ready, they will progress on into the group class portion.
Confidence Class for F&R Dogs - help your dog build the skills that they need to have success when they experience things that make them feel uncomfortable. We work on building confidence in the classroom & around people first, without other dogs present.
Focus Class for F&R Dogs - We use what we learned in Confidence Class and work up to working with another dog in the room at a distance. (Must complete Confidence Class first).
Real World Focus - take what we learned in class and work outdoors! The world can be very overstimulating for dogs, we will learn to put our new skills to good use while out and about, when triggers are not set up for success.
This training is on going and progressive. We will help you build your dog's confidence and focus when working around triggers. Dogs learn to choose what to do instead of reacting when put into situations that are stressful to them. Gain a better understanding about your dog's behaviour, this training is super rewarding for both you and your dog!
